“There is only one happiness in this life and that is to Love and be loved” - George Sand
Simon & Priscilla got married on a beautiful spring day in October. They had a beautiful church ceremony at St Barnabas in Fendalton, which is an absolutely stunning stone building, followed by their reception at Trents Vineyard- and boy was it magical <3
I really felt like I got to know Priscilla & Simon- From meeting them for coffee and a chat about their wedding to their engagement session- to their beautiful wedding day! It really made for a warm, welcoming and comfortable day taking photos with them and their (hilarious) bridal party! I had so much fun with these guys and I am only sad that we cant do it again and that now I’m finished editing their wedding gallery I don’t get to see their beautiful faces again- Although I guess that’s what photo’s are for right ;)
The day started with the guys getting ready- It was immediately apparent that these guys were going to be ALOT of fun and ALOT of laughs! It was so natural and so comfortable and that made it so easy to get photos of them- Even more so when they decided to be the next boy band of New Zealand and show off their ‘rap poses’ to me- And I was all for it :)- Don’t forget to make me your offical photographer when you get famous boys :P I then headed over to the girls to focus on them getting ready. Priscilla was so happy and absolutely glowing! it was a super relaxed environment and I loved having the chance to capture all the details- and meet the two cutest dogs ever!!!
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful with so much love between Simon & Priscilla, their bridal party and their family and friends watching on. It was such a pleasure to be a part of such a warm church ceremony, especially when Priscilla, Simon and both their parents came up to the altar to light the candles together. Wow! I cannot write this blog without mentioning the most warm, friendly and downright HILARIOUS priest I’ve EVER met! Father Alister Castillo- Boy did he make us all feel so relaxed and comfortable with so many laughs! What a star! He really tied the whole ceremony together and suited Simon & Priscillas personalities to a tee! After the ceremony, we headed to Trents Vineyard for some bridal party photos- It was so much fun hanging out with everyone- The boys really did their best to make the girls (and me) laugh- And it worked! We even found an old outhouse that Simon couldn’t resist sitting on for a few photos :) I really loved his dedication!
After bridal party photos, the bride and groom popped home to get changed, while I got to hang out with the guests as they arrived and got to enjoy lots of outdoor games and mingle in the beautifully decorated Trents Vineyard- If you have been here before you’ll know the building does itself justice- and stands beautifully on its own- Its like stepping into an old Italian or French country vineyard. I absoloutely love this venue- And it really complimented the beautiful church ceremony. We headed out after dinner to get a few more photos of Simon & Priscilla before I left for the evening- while the light was amazing. I was wowed by Priscilla’s second dress as she truly looked like a princess <3
I must say I felt really special that I was given my own seat, favour and even my name in the seating chart- I got the chance to talk to some of the guests and I really felt at home at this wedding. A special warm appreciation to Simon & Priscilla for their wonderful words as I was leaving the reception- It really meant a lot.
THANK YOU both SO much for choosing ME- I am just so happy with your photo’s and I will forever look back on this wedding and remember what warm & beautiful people you are. It was such a pleasure to be a part of your day and I wish you all SO MUCH LOVE!! Xx Charmayne
