Why I shoot film

There’s just something about film… it’s raw, nostalgic, a little imperfect — and that’s exactly the magic of it. In a world leaning more and more into AI and digital perfection, shooting on film feels intentional, timeless, and a little bit special.

I’ve always had a soft spot for analogue photography and have built a small collection of film cameras over the years, from the 1950s through to the 90s — each with its own unique character and feel.

These days, I love blending film with digital to give my couples the best of both worlds — the dreamy, emotive quality of film alongside the flexibility of digital (especially when the dance floor kicks off). That said, if you’re a true film lover, I’m always up for capturing an entire day on film.

I shoot with both 35mm and 120mm medium format, allowing me to balance candid, grainy storytelling with beautifully detailed, refined portraits — creating a gallery that feels rich, varied, and full of heart.
