Lets pick your outfit

Below you will find a simple guide to picking your outfit for your Family session. I have compiled a list of Do’s and Don’t’s, as well as some outfit ideas for different age ranges.

Most of my clients ask me ‘What do I wear’ and can find this quite a stressful and daunting task- BUT It doesn’t have to be!

Keep scrolling to find some ideas to make this process ALOT simpler.

OUTFIT DO’S AND DONT’S

DO

• Keep it simple- Avoid busy prints and patterns
• Neutral/earthy tones look great
• Keep it relaxed, cosy and comfortable
• Co ordinate your colours
• Stay true to yourself! You want to look like you!
DONT

• Wear logos, busy patterns or pictures on clothing.
• Dress up too much- Think timeless (We don’t need suits or formal dresses)
• Dress too casual- A happy medium is best (Think smart casual)
• Match colours and patterns- Variety is key.
KEEP IN MIND

• Don’t be afraid to mix textures and colours
• Keep jewellery to a minimum (remember to remove sports watches.
• Take your phones out of your pocket!
• Headbands, Hair ties/clips can look great on little ones!

They Key is to pick a tone i.e earthy (think browns, olive greens, beige) or Pastel (cream/off white, beige, light pink/blue) and apply these to ALL outfits. This means your outfits don’t need to match but they compliment each other as they all share the same TONE.

If your still stuck then neutral colours or pastel colours for everyone is always a winner!

The most important thing in your session is to FEEL comfortable, dress like yourself and you’ll feel like yourself on the day- Your outfit isn’t as important as the memories we will create!! :)
