I am a mum to Addy & Jude, a fur mum to 2 beautiful big dogs, Kylo & Willow, my super snuggly kitten, Keira and the most adorable bunny Ive ever seen, Echo ( Can you tell I’m a huge animal lover?! )
I love watching romance reality tv shows (Bachelor/Married at first sight anyone?!)
Im a bit of a photography nerd who owns 6 film cameras (including a couple from the 1950s).
When I’m not photographing, I am teaching little humans, hanging out with my two beautiful children, going for long walks, road trips and doing lots of baking!

Hi, I’m Charmayne- Nice to meet you :)
What I’ve learnt over the years of being a wedding photographer is one simple thing: Make sure your wedding day reflects YOU as a COUPLE. Don’t be influenced by others opinions/ideas, don’t feel pressured to make your wedding reflect a Pinterest board or be social media perfect.
Keep it to the basics of what’s important to you.
-your favourite songs as a couple,
- the food you love
-the people who are most important to you
-But most importantly, the love you share.
I became a wedding photographer to be able to share in and create memories for the most amazing couples, who just want to share their love with the world. Isn’t that the reason we live for? To share and experience Love.
In 2023 I decided to rebrand from Whimsical Wedding Photography to Heart and Soul Photo and Film. After 6 years in the business I felt like it was time to fine tune my passion and this came with an exciting brand refresh. True to my character, I put my heart and soul into my passion of photography and while I love weddings with every fibre of my being, Ive also rediscovered my love for portraits. Whether its Couples/families/maternity/children- I wanted to fit this into my business and hopefully capture even more beautiful moments for years to come!!
How did I find my passion for photography? Well i’ve always loved the idea of being able to capture a moment in time and to be able to relive that moment forever.
My approach to photography is to make my couples feel at ease in front of the camera. Let’s have a laugh, a joke, get a little silly and most of all have fun! after all it is your wedding day!
My style is a mix of candid, photojournalistic images- the kind that directly document the best parts of your wedding day- The raw emotions, spontaneous moments, the finer details that you’ve worked so hard on- and I combine this with fun creative and natural portraits for your bridal photos.
My other loves in life are my beautiful children- Addy & Jude, My amazing partner Brodie and our (currently) 5 animals. We live In Kaiapoi and have been renovating our house for the past 3 years.
