ELYSSE & ETHAN
PORT HILLS, CHRISTCHURCH
Elysse first came to me as she wanted to do a photoshoot with her husband Ethan to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. I super keen and excited to photograph a special and momentous occasion in their marriage!
We chose the Port Hills for our location as it is one of my favourite locations to shoot- It has the perfect contrast of greenery, tussock and gorgeous views of Christchurch. Having recently moved down here from Wellington it was really cool to get photos of Elysse & Ethan overlooking their new hometown!
It was an absolute stunner of an evening, we headed down just before sunset and managed to get some amazing light, the clouds were defiantly out to impress with a contrast of vivid blues and soft yellow to brighten up the background and add a little extra something special to the photos- Not that elysse & Ethan needed it at all cause wow what a gorgeous couple! I gave Elysse & Ethan a style guide before their session and Elysse told me it was super helpful in choosing what to wear for their session and answering all their questions and they looked sooo amazing don’t they?! ( Elysse told me her gorgeous skirt was from Dotti and wow that khaki colour really fits in with the backdrop)
I could not stop telling them how adorable they were together- That and the beautiful light of the evening- I was almost in tears of excitement!
Elysse & Ethan you were such a pleasure to work with, so patient, so willing to try all my ideas to get some awesome photos and so, so frickin adorable! I had THE BEST time with you both and so wish you weren’t already married just so I could be their for the wedding!!!- How about a vow renewal? :P :)
